Who Am I?

Hi there! My name is Anuva Arrya Sharma and I am passionate about encouraging an equitable and inclusive society. You might be thinking, okay... a lots of young professionals have big dreams, but how are YOU going to achieve this?  I seek to apply my research, communication, and interpersonal skills towards advocating for innovative policy and program solutions that improve quality of life outcomes of Canadians and people worldwide. My background, values, and evolving skillset allow me to continuously work towards this goal.

I value effective communication, engagement and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and contextualizing qualitative and quantitative findings to create compelling narratives for holistic policy development. I have worked with the federal and provincial government, non-profits, and small businesses and held various volunteer leadership positions through my undergraduate and graduate degrees. To me, success is not a just a metric, but rather, a journey that continues to evolve depending on changing needs. I believe true project and policy success occurs when those who are directly impacted by the changes we work towards, tell us that what we have done, has improved their quality of life.

My personal travels growing up and my academic and living experience abroad during my MPP exchange semester, have played a crucial role in my open-minded and collaborative nature. Through my exchange term, I learnt how Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries effectively tackle societal challenges by considering their sociocultural, economic, and geopolitical context within policy development and implementation. As someone who loves to travel, exploring different cities and cultures has allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for people with different lived experiences than my own.

I have led volunteer leadership teams at the graduate, undergraduate, and high school level, that have allowed me to cultivate an inclusive and encouraging environment for all team members. I believe in the importance of providing team members with support and guidance, and continue to gravitate towards roles that allow me to engage in mentorship. My love for travel and mentorship, allow me to effectively serve domestic and global clients with various backgrounds, as I value the importance of understanding various needs and wants of differrent people.

Why hire me: I am a dedicated professional who is driven by my goal to make a positive impact on everyone who I interact with, and enjoys solving complex challenges. I am actively seeking client-facing roles where I am able to collaborate with individuals who seek to make a positive impact on the lives of others and work with empathetic and thoughtful leaders. I look forward to continuing to work with organizations, and individuals who share my passions and interests, and actively cultivate an inclusive and motivating work environment for me to contribute to.

I invite you to explore my portfolio and learn a bit more about me. I hope you enjoy my work!
